Mad Rush For GBS Decoders

The Spintex Road offices of Gateway Broadcast Services (GBS), the Pan-African pay-TV service, was last Friday besieged by hundreds of soccer enthusiasts buying their GBS decoders in order not to miss the first matches of the much anticipated start of the Barclays Premier League live on GBS.

The Barclays Premier League kicked off live with 80 per cent of all the matches on GBS on August 16. There are seven more exciting games this weekend, starting with Stoke City v Aston Villa at 1.30 p.m. on GS1 live on Saturday.

“GBS is the home of football and world class sports events. We are excited and delighted to welcome so many football fans who have recognised that GBS will bring them the best in football entertainment, including the Barclays Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga and African Football leagues from Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana and Cameroon,” said Michael Yamson, General Manager of GBS Ghana.

“In addition to being the home of top football leagues and championships, GBS, with its carefully selected programmes is proud to bring quality African and international entertainment channels to the whole family!”

Other matches to be covered live on Saturday, August 30, include: Arsenal v New Castle (18.30 GMT, GS1 live), West- ham United v Blackburn (14:00 GMT GS2 live), Everton v Portsmouth (14.30 GMT GS1 live), Middlesburg v Stoke City (18:45 GMT GS2)

On Sunday, August 31, it will be Chelsea v Tottenham (12:30 GMT GS1 live),
