Accra , Oct 5, GNA - The President, John Dramani Mahama has re-nominated Mr James Bakalatop, as the Kintampo South District Chief Executive (DCE).
By virtue of Order 16(10) of the Model Standing Orders for District, Municipal and Metropolitan Assemblies as amended and effected pursuant to Section 18(6) of the Local Government Act, 1993 (Act 462), states that 'Any nominee of the President who at anytime fails to poll 50 per cent of the votes of the members present and voting, may be re-nominated on reasonable grounds, or may be withdrawn by the President.
A release signed by Alhaji Collins Dauda, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, on Wednesday said the President's decision for the re-nomination is in accordance with the law.
