Nii Lante, Stop the malfeasance and suspected corruption at the GFA

In recent times, the new Sports Minister, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderjuye has had on many occasions. attempted to plug the many avenues, the so call sports people have exploited for years to enrich themselves at the expense of the tax payer.

These include the reduction in the many and unnecessary complimentary tickets for Black Stars matches both home and away, the number of hotel rooms allocated to the management members of the Black Stars, the winning bonuses for the Black Stars and the management members, payment of coach Avram Grant in local currency . Especially for the coach, if he takes up a job in United Kingdom after the expiration of his contract with the Black Stars, his expectation is , he will receive his pay in pounds and not dollars or cedi.

The other issues, include the GFA not making various sponsorships and contracts with PUMA transparent because of their corrupt practices and their malfeasance. These are some of the steps the the new Sport Minister is or has taken to save some money for the other disciplines which have suffered growth at the expense of the Black Stars which has nothing to show in terms of achievement for the last 30 plus years.

After the recent Black Stars match , the Minister asked the management members to justify why they should be paid winning bonus. This simple task has infuriated the members. All over the world workers justify their pay check so there is absolutely nothing wrong with the request by Nii Lante Vanderjuye. It started with, the President of the Ghana Football Association ,Kwesi Nyantekyi ,who has enjoyed this booty for over 10 years, who defiantly, unintelligently and boldly stated the they will get their money. They should prove to the Ghanaian tax payers who are feeling the pain of their lack of integrity why they deserve the bonus ,more importantly in dollars. How greedy, wicked, shameful and inappropriate . A practice that has gone wrong for a long time has become a norm ,that no one has the right to question the management members or ask them to justify their earnings. I want any of the members to justify it and shame the minister . But until then they should keep quiet and strategies for a good reason to collect their winning bonus. That's insulting to Ghanaians.

Nii Lante the Ghanaian sporting public is fully behind you in your house cleaning program .

To add insult to injury ,was the disgraceful and shameless GFA Executive Member and the Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional FA, Nii Komotey Doku, who went or air or the print media to insult the minister for talking irresponsibly without giving reasons to the minister and the public reasons. Nii Doku lacks integrity and sense of reasoning .His position should have made him more intelligent, matured and well mannered about his choice of words and utterances, because in all honesty I have no doubt in my mind the minister said anything wrong. All he was doing was to save some unnecessary payments which can help other lesser sports which have brought glory to the country. Martha Bansah won gold for Ghana in athletics and the highest prize she got was $10.000 from the President of Ghana which was a personal gift. Some of our foreign based athletes pay for their own flight to international meetings and the refunds from the ministry takes for ever because most chunk of the monies goes to the Black Stars and their management.

That same amount. $10,000 is what the players and management members of the Black Stars were receiving after each match for many years. Ghana Black Stars have not won any trophy in over 32 years and that is of no concern to the management.

Nii Doku, I want to enlighten and educate you on the meaning of maturity. Your choice of words and the manner you handle difficult situations makes you matured and not going out there making irresponsibly utterances. Most of your committee members lack it and do not have a good approach towards conflict resolution.

Your utterances and choice of words towards the minister is shameful and disgraceful and it shows how indiscipline you and your committee operates. The so call football people have been using the national team assignments as their ATM while the other sports suffer financially.

Late last year, executive committee, shared $15,000 to each of the 22 members and when the good people of Ghana raised an eyebrow ,their arrogant president, said it was their own money ,so why is the public crying more than the bereaved. That's a clear insult.

The GFA President Nyantekyi was unable to account for the co-efficient, collected on behalf of its management members during the World Cup at his appearance at the Presidential Commission, the list included ghost Jordan Anagla who has been dead for over a year and other members who were not at the World Cup. The sports minister is unofficially implementing some of the findings of the commission report.

The management committee job in the first place is a voluntary job and with time people were remunerated for their time and sacrifices, It has never been a full time job because its not. I saw H P Nyametei, was a high ranking manager of SIC, Lawton Ackah Ayensu, Zac Bentum was the Managing Director of GOIL Ghana Limited, Ben Koufie, FIFA and CAF Chief Instructor and Resource Person, Sam Brew-Burtler, is still a lawyer and businessman,Alhaji Jawula was a director at the Ministry of Finance until he was enskinned and many other GFA leaders and members had a responsible jobs and positions and therefore their livelihood, did not depend on the allowances they receive for their positions or managing the national teams.

My humble appeal to you Nii Doku is your position goes with a lot of responsibilities including the manner you talk ,how you say it and what you say because you are in position of trust and authority. You are shameful and disgraceful, and so is Kwesi Nyantekyi and George Afriyie.
