Is Pastor Mensah Otabil Ready To Detoxify The Poisoned Environment?

Last time, Pastor Otabil told us how poisoned our environment is. How unacceptable it is that Mark Zukerberg is richer than Ghana because of the environment. No matter how one wishes to interpret the environment, it certainly has something to do with the systemic mindset of the people. Therefore, clearly, Pastor Otabil is going to detoxify the Ghanaian environment. How would he do that? By declaring, “Big Bang and Evolution theories are lies” to begin with. He will detoxify the environment by demonizing science or some scientific theories by some scientists.

Thank you, Pastor Mensah Otabil. You had done exceedingly well to talk SCIENCE to the public. Even our University Lectures hardly do that. They will rather engage in political and religious discussions. As usual, I am sure your congregation was applauding you loudest for another revealed truth by declaring that Big Bang and Evolution theories are lies, concocted by some scientists to discredit the Infallible Holy Bible. The Devil must be a liar.

Only the Biblical God can reveal it to you, via His Infallible Word wherein we learnt that the Earth is bigger than the sun and in the last days, the stars will fall into the Earth. Yes, the Infallible Bible wherein we are taught how to make wine by praying over water, how sitting under a tree in a small garden, Adam named all the species that ever existed, whereas millions of scientists do not even know the total number of species inhabiting the Earth let alone name them.

How dreaming of been visited by spirit makes a virgin pregnant and how pairs of different species of animals including dinosaur, pairs of baobab trees and other plant species. How pairs of species of microorganisms like bacteria and virus walked into Noah’s all wooden ark and how they repopulated the Earth after the deluge and many other advanced truths in the Infallible Bible. You know carnal minds cannot understand them. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. He works in mysterious ways. His ways are not our ways. In fact His thoughts are higher than our own just as the heavens are higher the earth.

You see, I have always been trying to see aeroplane in the sky of Kotoka International Airport from where I stay in Ghana. I tried several times but to no avail. I have never seen it simply because of the Earth’s shape. In other words, for me to see it depends on the nature of the Earth. It has nothing to do with the nature of the aeroplane. This means even if a spiritual aeroplane appears in the sky of Kotoka International Airport in this almost spherical Earth, I can never see it from the Southeastern part of Ghana. With the exception of those near the Airport, not everyone in Accra will even see the aeroplane in the sky.

Yet, the Infallible Bible teaches us that Pastor Otabil and his Congregations in Ghana, Pastor Chris and his in Nigeria, others in South Africa, then in Europe, America and Asia will all see Jesus Christ in the sky in an almost spherical Earth because Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Only a flat Earth as taught by the Infallible Bible that will ensure a conical or pyramidal view can support that belief. Should more than one Jesus Christ appear in the sky, then they should be rest assured that some of them are heading straight into the hands of a false Jesus Christ who we learnt shall equally be around to deceive the elite as people say here is the Christ, there is the Christ. Yes, carnal minds cannot understand. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. He works in mysterious ways. His ways are not our ways. In fact His thoughts are higher than our own just as the heavens are higher the earth.

Therefore, thank you very much for declaring that Big Bang and Evolution theory are lies, giving, rather religious reasons and no scientific ones. Ghanaians, the thing is teachings of religious leaders are influential. The probability that people will unquestionably believe the biblically backed sermon and, equally extend it to almost anything associated with science education is very high. For instance, just to discredit these theories as lies with nothing but religious reasons, the smart preacher lumped in many anecdotal evidences about drugs and nutrition, which demands scientific education to correct.

This is why I wish that our radio stations attach seriousness to this Pastor Otabil’s sermon and call the Scientists and Lecturers in our universities, especially in the area of Physics and Biology and Medicine to educate the public on what he said. Pastor Otabil with the Bible in hand is mis-educating the public on such science issues. He should rather continue to inspire his people with the talking snake, talking burning bush, talking donkey and many of such stories in his Infallible Bible and leave the Big Bang and Evolution theories to people of science to educate the public on.

On the flipside of the coin of his babblings, let us say Pastor Otabil is deliberately calling for Ghanaian Scientists and Science Enthusiasts to take the trouble to engage the public by explaining leading fundamental scientific theories to us. They should cease this opportunity to do that than continue sitting aloof or joining the political paparazzi discussions that so saturates our airwaves. Imagine, tuning to radio or TV station and the topic of discussion on today’s program is the meaning and likely implications of a scientific theory or how new inventions are bound to influence society, from the leading Scientists on the program. At least in other nations, this is how Scientists begin to become household names, inspiring generations of young ones.

Let us take science education to the public. We have for far too long left them at the mercy of religion and politics. Science has given us the social media to propagate its educative story. Someday, we shall look at what the theories of Big Bang and Evolution say about the Origin of the Universe and of living organism respectively. Admittedly, they are difficult to even “understand” or appreciate let alone “explain” to someone. But you see, where the electron goes, the atom follow. I love it called science. I shall be back.
