'You do not attend our funerals'; UW PPP threatens resignation

A group calling itself concerned supporters of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) has accused party founder, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom of neglecting the Upper West regional branch of the party.

They accused the national executives of consistently dishonouring their invitations to programmes in the region.

The Party was formed in 2012. It managed to poll 64,267 popular votes in the 2012 general elections with founder Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom as the flagbearer.

Upper West regional branch of the party contributed to this feat.

But they believe their hard work is not being appreciated by the leader and national executives of the party.

“They have not been to the region to even say thank you to us after the 2012 general elections, four years ago,” The Wa Central Communication Director, Atawullah Deras told Joy News.

Atawullah added that the Upper West regional branch of the PPP had an election in 2014 and no National executive of the party went to witness the event.

“What breaks our hearts most is that both the regional secretary and the regional chairman lost their mothers and no national executive attended the funeral but other political parties send delegations to funerals of serial callers,” he said.

They have vowed to close down all party offices in the region if the situation does not change.
