BXC Company Ghana Limited, a provider of Renewable Energy and smart prepaid metering Systems in Ghana has donated a cheque of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 10,000) to the Winneba Senior High School (WINNESEC) in the Central Region.

The deputy Managing Director of the Company, Ms Michelle Zhang present the cheque on behalf of the company during the 66th Speech And Prize-Giving Day of the School which was held on the theme: ``Quality Education for National Development, The Role of Stakeholders’’.

According to Ms Mitchelle education is the backbone of every successful nation hence the decision by her company as a stakeholder to invest in the sector to help produce more qualified and competent workforce to accelerate the country’s development.

She challenged the students to cultivate the habit of reading and research whiles making use of every opportunity and resource at their disposal to become useful to society in future.

``I therefore urge the students here today, to make use of every opportunity and resource available to become useful assets to society in the future. I entreat our students here to cultivate the habit of reading and research’’ she encouraged.

The Headmistress of WINNESEC, Mrs Cecilia Kwakye Cofie expressed her profound gratitude to BXC Company for its kind gesture.

The donation by BXC she said would be used to resource the School`s new library complex to become functional.

According to her the thirst for quality education has become more pronounced in recent times with increasing scramble by parents for spaces for their wards in few schools perceived to be good schools for academic and social security.

This she noted demands the urgent need for all stakeholder involvement in the provision of the necessary infrastructure and resource to create a congenial environment for teaching and learning.

Mrs Kwakye appealed to other stakeholders to contribute to the development of the school.

Winneba Secondary Schools which was established in 1949 with only 21 students currently has a student population of about 1,900 with excellent academic and sports achievements to its credit.
