Stay off PNC: Greater Accra Chair warns NDC and NPP
31.10.2015 LISTEN

The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the People National Convention – PNC, Bala Maikankan has sent s strong warning to the NDC and NPP to stay away from the affairs of the party.

According to him, the two leading parties are sponsoring a number of people to take up strategic positions to use the platform given them by the PNC to serve their interest and further weaken the party.

Speaking ahead of the Party’s Regional Executive Elections at Mantse-Agbona this Sunday, he challenged delegates to use the power they have to purge the party off all those who have proven to love the NDC and NPP than PNC

He indicated that party loyalty should be number one on the agenda because if the wrong people are put into positions again, the party will suffer in the future.

In 2012, Bala Maikankan became the youngest Regional Chairman of any political party in the fourth Republic and he reckons the experience gained so far will drastically improve the party over the next four years.

Targeting One Million votes in Greater Accra come 2016, he says ‘if delegates will give me the nod, I can assure them that we will do our utmost to secure one million votes in the country”

“Ghanaians are eager for a change, Ghanaians are tired of NDC and NPP, they want third party to step up and give the two leading parties a run for their money and the responsibility lies with us PNC as currently the third strongest party in the country to step up and state a claim for the ultimate”

“It starts with electing independent minded people to lead the party and not people who will divide us and use the party to champion the cause of other parties.

He promised to lead a general cleansing exercise of the party if he gets the nod to lead the party once again because until that is done, the party will forever remain third best and that will be dangerous for the country

He also called on the media to give the programs of the party the same prominence they give to that of NDC and NPP so that a level competing ground is given to every party to send their message to the people of Ghana starting from tomorrow’s program.

“We have been the friendliest party to the media but for some reasons they usually give us cold shoulder when we need them the most”

I am therefore using your platform to call on every media house in the country to send a representative to the Regional Executives Elections.
