CPP Abu Sakara Donates To CPP
OCT 22, 2015 LISTEN

The 2012 presidential candidate of the Convention People's Party (CPP), Dr. Abu Sakara has donated various item worth GH¢30,000 to the party.

The donation, which is part of the first batch of 100 motorbikes Mr Sakara promised the CPP, is to assist the party to undertake an effective political campaign ahead of the 2016 general elections.

Dr. Abu Sakara, who was speaking at the presentation ceremony at the party's headquarters in Accra on Tuesday, said the donation was in response to Prof. Edmund Delle, the party chairman's recent call on members of the party and well-wishers to assist in building the CPP from grassroots to the national level with resources and equipment.

'A little all the time is better, therefore this little donation is part of a series of donations to the party that I would help put the party in good shape to contest in competitive elections,' the 2012 CPP flagbearer said.

He indicated that even though the CPP has always had a good campaign message ahead of every general election, its electoral fortunes had dwindled since 1992.

He attributed the development to the lack of operational capacity of the party.

Dr. sakara commended the new executives of the party, led by Prof. Delle, for promising to put the party's constituency and regional offices in readiness for the 2016 elections.

Chairman of the CPP, Prof Edmund Delle, who received the donation on behalf of the party, thanked Dr. Sakara for the donation.

'When I took over I insisted that to be able to build CPP, the party should be self-reliant. The party is supreme and one person cannot build the party so I appealed to party members and well-wishers to help build the party in three key areas.

'First of all true members must find time to visit party offices to help. Secondly, those with talents should also find ways to assist and those with the means should also help resource the party.'

The CPP Chair commended Dr. Abu Sakara and urged other comrades of the party to emulate him.

The motorbikes were immediately handed over to some regional offices and other wings of the party.

The Western and Volta regions received 4four motorbikes each.

The national chairman's office and the women's wing of the party each received a motorbike.
