Madam Obuobia Darko Opoku has urged members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to desist from politics of insults as the party holds its presidential and parliamentary primaries on the 7th November, 2015.

According to her, “We need to do away with politics of insults as well as attacking personalities verbally because supporting one candidate does not mean the contender is an enemy".

She made this statement during her campaign launch rally for the upcoming parliamentary election in the Weija-Gbawe constituency.

She said the party believes in democracy, hence there is the need to respect one's views and choice, instead of developing hatred amongst themselves which will adversely have effect on the party.

"We owe it to our people not to destroy what binds us together in pursuit of our selfish interest. The NDC party remains bigger than each one of us and all our actions must be in the interest of the great NDC", Madam Oboubia Darko Opoku maintained.

She was however hopeful she will win the primaries due to developmental projects she had undertaken within the constituency and has appealed to supporters to vote her for the second time to lead the party come 7th November, 2015.

Obuobia assured party supporters of winning the Weija-Gbawe seat for the NDC and also help increase votes to re - elect President John Mahama.
