Mr. John Obiri Yeboa, the young man who was defeated by ace broadcaster and former Joy FM presenter, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in the last week parliamentary primaries of the opposition New Patriotic Party in theOfoase/Ayirebi constituency has declared that the circumstances surrounding the elections and the manner in which the election was conducted indicates that it may have been abad omen if he had emerged the victor in the election.

According to the young man who has come to win the heart of some youth in the constituency particularly the Ayirebi township, the way all the powers that matters in the NPP including some former ministers and the constituency executive of the partywere against him, it may have been bad for him to have win.

John Obiri Yeboah polled 145 votes as against Kojo Oppong Nkrumah who won with 219votes. But obiri believes the delegates voted for him but some powers in the party changed the figures. The election which was supposed to have come to an end at 3:00 pm was counted and declared around 12 noon and according to Obiri even before the 12, some ‘big men” in the party had jumped to social media congratulating his opponent and “welcoming him on board”. He said all these indicators pointed to the fact that it may not have been good for himself and the party if he had won.

Obiri however assured the people of the constituency that his vision for the constituency still remains and promises to work hard for the party for Nana Akuffo Addo to win in the 2016 general election.

Obiri said this at a thanksgiving service held at Akyem Ayirebi to thank God, the chiefs and the people of the constituency for the support and love shown him before, during and after the primaries.

To the many youth and others who have been calling on him to contest the seat as an independent candidate, he told them that he will take sometime to cool off and later make his intentions known to the people. He however assured them that whatever decision that he will take will be one that will be in the interest of the NPP and in the supreme interest of Nana Akuffo Addo in the 2016 election.
