The Christian Council of Ghana has proposed to the various Ga Traditional Councils to organize a thanksgiving church service to climax this year’s Homowo festival.

According to the Council, the thanksgiving church service will offer Ga indigenes and residents who are Christians, and their leaders the opportunity to thank God for the year and also commit the coming years into the hands of God as it seeks for God’s prosperity and abundance in the land.

This proposal was contained in a letter dated May 12, 2015 and signed by the General Secretary of the Council, Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong to the La, Osu, James Town, Sempe, Teshie and Gbese Traditional Councils.

“The Council is willing to offer Chapels for these thanksgiving services to climax the festival should the elders of the Traditional Councils consider this proposal. It will also offer the traditional councils and the Church a better opportunity to engage on issues of mutual interest and develop better relations as partners in nation building,” parts of the letter stated.

The letter further wished the leadership of the various Ga Traditional Councils well as they go through this solemn period of meditation and prayer as part of the Homowo festival.
