Don't Politicise National Sanitation Day- ER NPP

Eastern regional executives of the opposition New patriotic party (NPP) have advised government to stop politicising the national sanitation day since that would take away the essence of the activity.

The regional communications director, David Prah, speaking to the reporter stated emphatically that the government as well as the NDC as a party have already politicised the activity which to him is in the wrong direction.

The national sanitation day which was instituted by government to clean up the environment makes a stop in the region this weekend after visiting other regions. Eventhough the activity is happening nationwide, the regional tour is expected to take place at some communities within Kwahu traditional area.

However, mr. Prah thinks the government is using the exercise as a campaign tool ahead of the 2016 elections hence the choosing of Kwahu due to the large expected crowd because of the easter celebrations. He said government always want to take credit from the exercise forgeting the support from ghanaians.

" Government always want to be praised for the exercise as if it is only government officials or NPP supporters who goes out to sweep. Government must know that not all ghanaians are NDC faithfuls and due to that i think ghanaians deserves all the praise and honour" he added.

Mr. David Prah therefore warned government to stop politicising the activity or his outfit will advise its supporters to boycott the exercise. He called on ghanaians to be weary of the cheap plans of the government to tune our minds from the current hardships with the sanition day exercise.

In a related development, some journalists and local media houses in the region have expressed worry at the regional cordinating council for refusing to invite them to the exercise.
