Accra, Feb 25, GNA - The Volunteers for Nduom 2016 (VN16), a youth organisation within the Progressive People's Party (PPP), on Wednesday appealed to Dr Papa Kewsi Nduom, founder of the party, not to abandon the party and Ghana, when his services were most needed.

The Organisation believes that Dr Nduom is the only person capable of solving the numerous problems facing the country when given the mandate as president.

Mr Richard Nii Amarh, National Coordinator of VN16, at a press conference in Accra, said Dr Nduom has practically demonstrated his competence, credibility and leadership skills in management by establishing over 50 business entities, not only to provide employment and livelihood for over 5,000 individuals and their families, but also to ensure quality services for enhanced national development.

He said rumours and media reports that Dr Nduom had decided not to contest for the 2016 elections came to the VN16 as a surprise because it did not make sense to think that the person who has conceived great ideas for Ghana's progression would leave the PPP at its nurturing stage, leaving it as an orphan without a foster home.

He said the party sees it as a deliberate strategy by its opponents to confuse people to think that Dr Nduom would not contest in the 2016 elections; however the VN16 endorses him as the most competent candidate to lead the PPP to win the Presidential set, and bring a change to the worsening socio-economic situations of the country.

He said the Organisation would mobilise all available resources to ensure a stiffer campaign for Dr Nduom when nominations were opened and also mobilise large support for his victory.

Ni Amarh said the VN16 call on all to dispel the notion, saying Dr Nduom was a strong, experienced, result-oriented, approachable and capable of turning around the current economic situation of the country for the better.    GNA
