OccupyGhana Supports “Wɔn' Gbo” And Other Peaceful Demonstrations

By OccupyGhana
Press Statement OccupyGhana Supports Wn' Gbo And Other Peaceful Demonstrations
FEB 17, 2015 LISTEN

OccupyGhana continues to be worried and extremely concerned about the worsening state of affairs in the country and the rather lacklustre approach from government to solving the myriad of problems that continue to bedevil our dear nation.

OccupyGhana® notes, with concern, the rapidly deteriorating economic situation, rampant and widespread corruption and mismanagement, the inability to create jobs for the masses of unemployed youth, and the unreliable supply of electricity.

OccupyGhana is glad to note that concerned Ghanaians are rising up responsibly and demanding action from our leadership.

OccupyGhana believes that the challenges we are currently experiencing, including but not limited to Economic mismanagement, the ever-worsening power crisis (#adumdum adumdum #dumsor), and their attendant effects on the cost of doing business in particular and the economy at large, including government's inability or unwillingness to retrieve wrongfully paid judgment debts, are ALL attributable to poor Leadership and a lack of commitment to good and responsible governance.

OccupyGhana wishes to state that it supports all non-violent protests against this state of affairs, the first in 2015 being the demonstration on February 18 dubbed "Wɔn' Gbo" demo. This position is in line with our unwavering commitment to keep our leaders in check and ensure they do not sleep on the job.

OccupyGhana urges all well-meaning Ghanaians to join hands with like-minded persons and groups to responsibly demonstrate our dissatisfaction with the present state of affairs and offer feasible solutions where we can.

OccupyGhana calls on all well meaning Ghanaians, including Politicians, Industry Captains, Artisans, Traders, Employers, Employees and Unemployed, Students, Dropouts, Housewives, Taxi/Trotro drivers etc to massively join the street protest and march against incompetent leadership that has put Ghana in this state of decay.

OccupyGhana will continue to support any party, group or persons who will demonstrate to demand responsible governance and better economic conditions for ALL.

To the extent that this demo seeks to achieve the same ends for which OccupyGhana® was formed, it

will have OccupyGhana's full and unalloyed support, for God and country.

OccupyGhana® believes, as the Constitution states that we, the people of Ghana, are the source of all power in this Republic, and leadership must work to improve the livelihood of the citizens who voted them into power.

Let us all work together to create a political environment that would be uninhabitable for politicians

who promise, that, which they cannot deliver.
Ghana is all we have.
Yours in the service of occupying minds and hearts for God and country.
