A predominantly Zongo group calling itself Sese, with strong presence in Accra and Kumasi, has congratulated the newly elected National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Dr Kofi Portuphy.

The group, which strongly rooted for the bid of Mr. Portuphy, is equally prepared to support the ruling party to retain power in the 2016 and 2020 general elections.

A statement issued and signed by the national coordinator of Sese,Alhaji Moro Issaka, in Accra, said“Mr. Portuphy has always been a gift to the party and his welcoming reception for the youth is immeasurable hence a national victory for NDC and the Sese populace”

The statement further described Mr.Portuphy as a man of charisma and action, with a strong personality needed for the political success of the NDC.

Alhaji Moro popularly known as “Polo 4040” in political cycles believes that the Zongo communities are still the political bulwarks of the party and his group will relentlessly work for the party at all times.

He called on the newly elected executives of the NDC to form a united front to lead the party to victory to set a precedent as the only party to retain power on three consecutive times.
