Elections Watch Live Video Supreme Court to have the last word on Judgment day
AUG 29, 2013 LISTEN

Nine justices of the Supreme Court are set to deliver a crucial ruling on an election petition to determine who actually won the 2012 presidential elections.

The Petitioners led by the New Patriotic Party flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo are challenging the legitimacy of John Dramani Mahama pronounced winner of the 2012 presidential elections by the Electoral Commission (EC).

The Respondents made up of the President (first respondent), the EC (second respondent) and NDC third respondent maintained that the sins of the electoral officers must not be visited on voters.

Both sides have been speaking for about 47 days making their case and explaining exhibits whilst the judges largely listened and looked on.

But Thursday 29th August 2013 is judgment day, the nine judges will finally have the last word.

The judges are seated and set and the court room is predictably packed.

Ghana shall not live by bread alone, but by every word from the mouths of the nine judges.
