Police Administration Act Now

The Greater Accra Police Command and the James Town Police in particular, will have to explain to Ghanaians why they are unable to arrest certain individual for defraud by false pretense of individuals and the public and the other for assault .These individuals are walking the streets of Greater Accra in the full view of the police service just because they have political connections with people who are supposed to know better including aspiring Members of Parliament or call themselves honorable or men of integrity.

I am very disappointed that the Greater Accra Regional Police Command is looking on unconcern while innocent people are been taking advantage of and in other case abuse and assaulted. The police is gradually creating and supervising a lawless society by their inaction over activities of certain individuals.

The police has handled a lot of cases with political under tones or connections very unprofessional .

I was under the false impression that the Inspector General of Police [ IGP] ,Mr Paul Tawiah,was a fine gentleman ,impartial ,fair and full of integrity and was consequently was going to improve standard of policing in Ghana .He has rather disappointed majority Ghanaians, as he is been controlled by politicians who have selfish interest to protect.

Last week Ghanaweb.com published a story alleging that the World Professional Boxing Federation Heavyweight, Braimah Kamoka assaulted his girlfriend and the family who were trying to rescue her from further punishment, also became victims of this illiterate braggart .He is also alleged to have assaulted Madam Mary Sono Amui ,two daughters as well as her grandson.

This unintelligent, uneducated ,abusive and bully openly dare the James Town Police, if they could arrest him and even if they attempt to do their civil duty the aspiring parliamentary candidate for Odododiodoo" ,Nii Lante Vanderpuije will release me from the police.". He added,

What makes the case very serious is the fact that the victims have lodged a complaint with the James Town Police , and nothing has been done till this day. This is a bad precedent by the police. This is not the first time Braimah has assaulted people in the James Town community and gotten away. At least he has done it more than twice within the last year. His chosen profession has rules and regulated by the association and if he was professional and civil he would have abide by the ethics of his profession and therefore he must be controlled before he murders innocent people, He is misbehaving and misconducting himself because he has the Director of Operations at the Presidency who doubles as the aspiring parliamentary candidate Nii Lante Vanderpuije, supporting his abusive lifestyle. I believe the police should act now and arrest this professional boxer turn into a street fighter to prove to the people of James Town and Ghanaians that they are serving the interest of the whole society and not individuals. Am a native of James Town and I know there are people who might be tempted to take the law into their own hands but I believe when they do the police will act quickly because politicians in the area who wedge all the power will push and influence their decision. Its a shame and embarrassing that a professional boxer should turn innocent women into a punching bag and both the police and politicians look on unconcern .

We live in a civil society with intelligent people and consequently citizens should learn to conduct themselves, if not they should be call to order. This is what the James Town Police and the Greater Accra Police Command have failed to do and like the adage goes when a child make the wrong choices, its the parents who bear the consequence and therefore, am holding the Regional Police Command and Inspector General of Police responsible.

The other case in which the police has failed to act is the fact that the Chief Executive Officer of Primeva Consult, Larry Opare-Otoo, has not only defrauded Ghanaians under false pretenses to collect their monies meant to help ailing Celebrated Coach Jones Attuquyefio and the Ear,Nose and Throat Department of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to improve infrastructure and logistics.

Opare-Otoo, is alleged to have deceived both the Ghana Football Association [GFA] and the Joy FM radio stations into believing that his ideas were genuine and was going to assist the coach and the ENT, only to realize that he has not only defrauded and swindle the good people of Ghana, including,Black Stars players like Asamoah Gyan, John Painstil ,Togbe Afede, Kennedy Agyepong but many many others who deserve better. He also used the GFA Communication director as well as its president Kwesi Nyantekyi as well during his press conference to promote the testimonial match, The GFA gave the stadium as their contribution while the radio station allowed their sport department to launch the program and appeal for funds. I believe the police does not need a Chinese scientist or a senior lecturer in law to urge them to investigate such day light robbery or using false and fraudulent means to enrich themselves in the glare view of the police and human right lawyers.The police need to ACT NOW.

The testimonial match was played on June 29 2012 at the Accra Stadium,and according to reliable information proceeds including pledges and donations yielded $ 27,000.00 about NG 54 million. I know for a fact that there were other expenses incurred by the organizers yet the amount handed to the coach was woefully inadequate considering the total amount Primeva realized. According to Ghana News Agency interview, the coach he has only received $ 1,000 since the game .The organizers doled out $ 3,000,00 to the disgraced sport broadcaster of Joyfm Ernest Koranteng, as a " THANK YOU".

Thanks to the management of the radio station who asked the humiliated Koranteng to refund the booty and according to the station they have presented the $ 3,000.00 to the coach.

These act of deceit and fraud by individuals and company using public spirited persons must by discouraged by the appropriate authorities including the police who are acting very unprofessional in the discharge of their duties.

The Greater Accra Regional Police Command should investigate and arrest both, Braimah Kamoka and The CEO of Primeva Consult Larry Otoo-Opare for deceit of the public and Jones Attuquayefio. The disgraced broadcaster Koranteng has already been punished by being fired from the joyfm and I do not have any sympathy for him as a colleague. he deserved what he asked for.

IGP , the James Town Police and the Regional Police Command must ACT NOW.
