Vice Presidential nominee Papa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur says he has a proven track record at managing the economy and will continue to do so if the ruling party is retained in office.

He told an animated party supporters at his outdooring ceremony, Tuesday that his credentials at managing the economy is practical, stating he does not use text book approach in managing the economy.

His fiercest contender who is also vice presidential aspirant for the NPP Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has consistently accused the ruling party of managing the economy with lies and propaganda.

He cited the continued fall in the country's currency as evidence of the incompetent manner in which the economy is being administered.

He said a propaganda managed economy is always exposed with a depreciating currency.

In what appears to be a subtle response to the claims by the NPP second-in-command, Papa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur said “we manage the economy not by theory” and “not by text books.”

He thanked the president for nominating him, saying “I accept this in all humility.”

"For us in NDC we are appointed to serve," he added.

Papa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur also questioned the free education mantra by the NPP, describing it as unrealistic.

He said the NDC would rather concentrate on access to education and progressively make education cheaper for parents.
