Ghana’s Gold, Chinese Hell

Feature Article Ghanas Gold, Chinese Hell
TUE, 04 SEP 2012 LISTEN

The impunity with which the Chinese are ripping, destroying abusing and corrupting Ghana, the Ghanaian and Africa is really very sad. The grace with which these foreigners operate in Ghana and the rest of Africa, especially the gold mining and resource rich areas is pitiful but it gives evidence to how 'stupid 'our leaders are, be it political, customary or those at the EPA ( Environmental Protection Agency) of Ghana and the rest of Africa.

The audacity of the Chinese in Ghana is unbelievable. The equipment, the weapons, their demands and the lack of respect for the indigenes is simply amazing, but as we say 'who cause am'? When our policy makers and leaders take the corrupt and selfish stance, not to even mention the lack of intelligence; who is to be blamed?

My simple investigation into why no one is paying attention to these ex-convicts is very revealing; one of the major reasons is because the Chinese have simply bought the EPA of Ghana staff. They have bought their 'questionable souls' with thousands of dollars from China to turn and look the other way as they rip and destroy the very environment in which these 'questionable souls 'live. The Chinese have brought hell to Ghana, and if our leaders don't act fast and stop the carnage, mother Ghana will be bled dry, and the heat of hell will soon catch up and we will all burn.

There is no way our leaders will deny knowledge of what is happening, so then why do they not act aggressively to restore some confidence in their people, all we ever want as a people is a government or a leadership we have confidence in and who can act decisively in our interest;

Question: How did the Chinese get access to their sophisticated weapons, is it that our borders are so porous, or they have also bought officials at our ports? Did no one see them transporting these items? The impunity with which they wield such weapons is disgraceful to our police and armed forces.

Question: How did they cart their the heavy machines they are using to bleed Ghana, did our checkpoints along the highways not see them, where they carried on head, why is Ghana so disjointed and disorganized when it comes to harmonizing our systems, don't you think for the sake of posterity every extractive machinery should be monitored vigorously?

Question: How come after all the complaints, destruction and vanity of the Chinese, we have not heard about any serious action been taken to correct this cancer, why are they still operating, do we not have a respectable police force or armed forces that would uphold the laws and sovereignty of Ghana?

Question: Who is to be held responsible for monitoring our resources and for doing such 'excellent job', who is responsible for allowing the Chinese into our forests and mining areas?

Question: Do we even know if the Chinese are mining other minerals, do the locals have the knowledge to know whatever else is being ripped from under their ignorant noses, do our leaders even have an idea of what else are being mined?

Question: What is the role of EPA in all this mess, has any one questioned the EPA and their staff responsible, or everyone has indeed been bought with dollars from China?

Question: who is gaining amidst all this confusion; that is spreading and attracting even more Chinese and other nationals to Ghana to benefit from our stupidity?

You may also be surprise to know the sex trade going on vigorously in the shadows of our forest, and the dark of our pits, where 5 – 6 Chinese men will , will have sex with a lone Ghanaian lady, till a candle burns out. Yes, they are defiling our lands and also diseasing and fathering fatherless Ghana-Chino children and women.

Do you also know that, apparently most of these individuals operating in Ghana, are ex-convict from China, who are operating with the backing of their government (I cannot verify this, but as we say in Ghana, there is no smoke without fire.

It's a shame that because of Chinese cash, our policy makers, traditional leaders, and local Ghanaians will turn a blind eye to what is going on. Do we have limitless amounts of gold and other minerals, and environmental resources to allow and support the Chinese to vainly destroy suck dry our country.

Another Question: Do the Chinese do anything for free; are we not paying for the loans and other resources we source from them? So why do we then allow them to operate with such audacity in our country.

Our leaders and other people in authority are worse than blind, at least if they cannot see they should hear, shouldn't they? Our people are losing their dignity and pride because of Chinese, cash, personally I am on racist, but the truth must be told. You would expect these individuals to even hide and operate under the cover of darkness, but they act as 'if they are a legitimate' body working with the support of some powerful legitimate force in Ghana, who are these forces?

I am not journalist but I can see the damage, the reputational damage, the international disgrace being served to us because of our stupidity, ignorance and selfishness. I use to walk tall, I use to love saying I am a Ghanaian, but not more, because now to be Ghanaian means to be stupid, corrupt, weak and to love Chinese money. Right now I say I am from Ghana, but not a Ghanaian, I do not want to be associated with our selfish leaders, our blind agencies, our corrupt institutions and our diseased forest and bleeding gold deposit.

Those who need to must act now, we do not even allow our own Ghanaian miners to act with the same disrespected meted out by the Chinese, so why do we tolerate and accept the Chinese. The many questions been asked is to get you thinking and to act; it is to let you know some Ghanaians still love their country, if this is the little I can do to get action-leaders working again, then I will continue to write. For too long Ghana has been bleeding, since the days of independence, now that we should be healing her wounds, she is being given a raw deal, by Chinese cash and visionless Ghanaian ' authorities and leaders'.

s/he who has ears let him hear, but also act, and not act only but act to heal the wounds and wrong done Ghana.
