The People's National Convention says it has chosen a female to be the running mate of its flagbearer, Hassan Ayariga.
The decision comes barely four months to the December General elections.
Political parties interested in contesting in the elections are required to choose their running mates three clear months to the elections.
Of the five parties contesting the polls, only the NPP has a running mate.
However, PNC flagbearer Hassan Ayariga told Joy News he has decided on a female running mate.
He would not however reveal the identity of the candidate, except to say the candidate involved has been spoken to and has accepted to partner him in the December elections.
According to Hassan Ayariga the candidate was supposed to have been named in August but the untimely death of president John Mills meant she would have to be named in September.
The CPP's flagbearer, Dr. Abu Sakara said he will choose his running mate before the end of next month.
On his part, the PPP's flagbearer Paa Kwesi Nduom has also confirmed the name for his running mate will soon be announced.
According to him the party is still in deep thought to find an efficient partner for him ahead of the elections.
