The Ada Constituency of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is grappling with deep internal divisions that is threatening to loosen their grip on the constituency in the upcoming December polls.

Businessman and Youth Development Chief of Ada, Nene Tetteh Kakepeemi is hell-bent on contesting the Ada parliamentary seat as an independent candidate having lost the party's primaries.

The Youth Development Chief of Ada has refused to succumb to pressures mounted on him by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, and MP for Kpone Katanmso, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo to step down.

Speaking at the durbar of chiefs during the recent Asafotu festival, the Greater Accra Regional Minister made an appeal to Nene Tetteh Kakepeemi to reconsider his decision.

According to Afotey Agbo, the NDC as a party would be worse-off if they lose the seat in the December polls.

But speaking to Joy FM's Eastern regional correspondent, Benjamin Tetteh, Nene Tetteh Kakepeemi said the time has come for the indigenes of Ada to take their destiny into their own hands and turn around the dwindling fortunes of the constituency.

He added Afotey Agbo must rather concentrate on the happenings in his constituency and stop poking his nose into what is happening in the Ada Constituency.

The incumbent MP for the constituency is former Education Minister Alex Tettey-Enyo.
