
Accra, Aug 3, GNA - Ms Hanna Tetteh, Trade and Industry Minister, has described the selection of Mr. Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur, Governor of the Bank of Ghana, for the position of Vice President as good choice by the President of Republic.
In a letter copied to the Ghana News Agency on Thursday, Ms Tetteh said: “I feel constrained to send this mail in the light of some of the statements being made about the President's nominee for the position of Vice President.”
She said President John Dramani Mahama had made a very good choice and added that she had had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Amissah Arthur for a number of years and could say “with confidence that he is competent, knowledgeable, experienced and a fine gentleman.”
“He (Mr Amissah-Arthur) was a great friend of His Excellency the late President John Evans Atta Mills, and his commitment to the National Democratic Congress is unequivocal.”
Ms Tetteh said she would always be loyal and steadfast in her support to the President, the new Vice-President and the National Democratic Congress as she looked forward to working withthem to continue to develop the country and improve the lives of Ghanaians.
“This is the time for the National Democratic Congress to rally around our new President and support him to ensure that we continue to work and fulfill the desire of our late President - His Excellency President Mills to build a Better Ghana for the people of our country.”
“May the Soul of our late President rest in peace and may those of us left behind work assiduously to achieve his vision. May our Government achieve our goals of improving the lives of the people of this country, that is why we have been elected, and that is the work we must do,” she ended.
