Accra, July 31, GNA - The mood of the people in Mamprobi and its environs in Accra was not different from that of those in other parts of the country as most of them joined the one week celebration to mourn late President John Evans Atta Mills.
At about 0715 hours although most residents of Mamprobi were going about their normal duties, some were dressed in red and black colurs and others in the National Democratic Congress colours to mourn the late President.
Some residents, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said they felt a great sense of loss when they heard the demise of the President, and had decided to mourn until he is laid to rest on August 10.
They said the late President was really a great man and it would take a long time for Ghana to get such a humble, responsible, gentle, selfless, and wonderful President.
The residents said he was a man of peace and it was important for every Ghanaian to observe a minute's silence for the late President.
They called on Ghanaians to put aside their religious, ethnic and political differences and mourn their great leader.
