Effutu NDC opens book of condolence at its office

Winneba, July 29, GNA - The Effutu Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party has opened a book of condolence at it's headquarters in Winneba in memory of the late President John Evans Atta Mills.

Mr Mike Allen Hammah, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, and Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency, on Saturday signed the book the book that has the signatures of a cross-section of people in the Municipality. He was the 41st person to sign.

Mr Hammah stated in the book that the late President was a “father and friend, beacon of hope and a source of inspiration, adding that his humility, selflessness and dedication to duty was unparalleled”.

He prayed to the Lord to keep his soul in perfect peace. A minute silence was later observed in memory of the late President by the members of the party who accompanied him.

Addressing the members after the signing book, Mr Hammah said the death of the President is great loss to the party and the country as a whole.

“The President was a man who does not discriminate against anybody irrespective of his or her colour, ethnicity and political affiliation,” hwe said.

Mr Hammah urged members of the NDC to bury their differences, see themselves as one people and forge ahead to win the December election to enable the party to continue the Better Ghana Agenda programmes initiated by the late President so as toimprove the living conditions of the people.

Mr Asmah Kojo Bondzie, Effutu NDC Constituency Chairman, advised the members to remain calm and avoid any confrontations in connection with the death of the President.

Meanwhile the people in the municipality continue to mourn the late President as most of them are seen wearing mourning attire.
