He was speaking at the opening ceremony of a two-day management training workshop for Deputy Coordinating Directors in Kumasi.
It was held under the theme: “Administrative leadership capacity development for efficient local service delivery.”
Attending were 53 participants drawn from across the country and topics discussed included Public service ethics, Values, Accountability and corruption prevention, Local government financial management and Leadership challenges.
Mr Oppong-Fosu said a lot of was expected from them as administrators to inject pace into the socio-economic progress of the communities.
It should not be lost on them the goals of the Local Government Act - to help promote good governance and the participation of the people in the decision-making process.
He said they would now sign performance contract and this would require hard work and dedication to duty.
