Speaking at the inauguration of the District at Aburi in the Eastern Region, Mr. O.B. Amoah could not explain to the people why element within his party, the NPP was against the creation of the new districts by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The largest opposition party, the NPP, over the weeks was reported in sections of the media to be against the creation of the new District Assemblies across the country with some of them challenging the matter in courts.
