Lawyers for the Member of Parliament for the Assin North constituency, Ken Agyapong, have given indications that they would file for a discontinuance of the trial for which their client has been charged with three counts of Terrorism, Genocide and Treason felony.
According to lead counsel, Nii Ayikoi Otoo, they were ready to go the full hog, but if the spate of adjournment continues, the legal team would move a motion for the discontinuance of the trial and a discharge of their client.
He said this in an interview with Citi FM's Richard Mensah who was in court and reported that the case has been adjourned again by the Accra High Court for two weeks.
The reason given for the adjournment was that the Attorney General has not yet received the docket on Mr. Agyapong because the Police claim that in setting the bail conditions, the court did not order a report date for him.
The Attorney General was represented by Merley Wood, Rexford Wiredu and Yvonne Buabisa whiles Mr. Agyapong was represented by Ayikoi Otoo, Atta Akyea, Frank Davis, Mike Ocquaye Jnr. and Kuuku Welsing Jones.
The usual crowd that characterised this trial was absent today but there was the usual heavy Police presence.
The case was presided over by Justice Quist.

The whole Ghana is watching the legal football game being played by God knows how many lawyers who are chipping in on the case. Common sense tells every sensible Ghanaian that this is a serious game that cannot be played by lawyers alone now. If Agyepong is freed would he be confined to his own region and not be allowed into Accra or Volta Region?. If this is done, then there are no problems. But if he would prefer to return to live in Accra with his family then he may think again. Beca...
