The Progressive People's Party does not encourage politics of insults. We have said time and again, that we want to offer solutions to the teeming challenges in this country and not to engage in lamentable litany of cheap insult, denigration and mud-slinging with total impunity.

However, we, the Youth of the Progressive People's Party would not sit down and allow dust to settle on the matter where those that are close to government have been condemned on several occasions for their continuous exhibition of gross disrespect, discourteousness and arrogance towards certain good individuals whom they consider as threats to their fruitless political schemas.

What actually baffles our imagination is the fact that these government officials deliberately refuse or even do not want to channel their repugnant attitudes towards bad politicians but rather, a good man like Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, the flagbearer of the Progressive People's Party, who many Ghanaians have come to admire as a refined politician and a fine gentleman. Is it out of fear to lose the elections, desperation to retain power or what? They should come out clear.

Amongst all the NDC Communicators who are often seen and heard on TV and Radio defending H.E. John Evans Atta Mills for his abysmal performance, one that has shown to be immature, irresponsible and intolerant is Kojo Twum Boafo. We will not oppose any NDC supporter who considers Kojo Twum Boafo as their communication connoisseur since he is paid to do what he is best known for, which is, insults, vilification and denigration.

Just this Wednesday, 6 April, Kojo Twum Boafo on Happy FM, a radio station in Accra, depicted once again his best acumen. He was on top of his game. In the interview, he could not say anything meaningful to account for his stewardship as the Executive Secretary of the Ghana Free Zones Board. All he could do was to pour scorn on the sterling reputation of Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom. The words that came out of his mouth were so appalling and should automatically disqualify him as the CEO of the Free Zones Board. The words this supposed CEO of Free Zones Board used on Dr Nduom were in a bad taste that we cannot repeat them here. We will treat such words as unprintable and a waste of time from an unprofessional person. He went to the extent of making wild unsubstantiated allegations; for which we believe the Court of Law will soon summon him to prove.

One would immediately ask, what might have sparked such unwarranted intrusion? Dr. Nduom's crime was that he had an interaction with the press and tasked them to demand accountability from public officials. Dr Nduom further stated that it is unproductive for public servants to be using working hours in doing propaganda for the government on radio and TV. He cited the Free Zones Board as an important state institution but its CEO, Kojo Twum Boafo is always seen on radio and TV doing propaganda for government at the expense of the tax payers' money.

Dr. Nduom again queried why Prof. Mills has not called his ministers to order when clearly, they have deviated from their real responsibilities. Here we ask, should this genuine view by Dr. Nduom warrant such slander? We are less perturbed because by their deeds, we now know them as a political party which is not interested in the views of honest people and so, cannot be taken seriously.

Most Ghanaians are concerned about the unparalleled supercilious posture of Kojo Twum Boafo and would want to know whether he has any respect at all? We want to put on record that, it is as a result of these bad commentaries from people in government that so many people have become disenchanted with radio and TV discussions. Such loud-mouths are the ones who are making politics look dirty and unattractive to good people.

We are not surprised President Mills is not performing because the very people who should be doing the administrative work are the same people who waste the tax payer's money by jumping from one station to the other defending government. As it is now, there is no difference between a propagandist and a government official.

We refuse to be distracted by the likes of Kojo Twum Boafo. To people like him, who have been blinded by a little power, we have news. Ghanaians are tired of power blackouts, want good food to eat, need better education, want accident-free roads, are crying for jobs and want to get rid of preventable diseases like malaria.

In the end, it is President Mills we blame. He gave Kojo Twum Boafo a job and keeps this con man on the government's payroll. What does he say about people on government payroll descending into the gutter to dig mud to throw at hardworking Ghanaians like Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom who has invested in Ghana and keeps thousands of Ghanaians employed?

Lastly, we wish to put on record that the conduct of Happy FM and their News team was highly unprofessional. The happy FM reporter was among the team of Journalist who met with Dr. Nduom on Wednesday. In spite of all the good things that Dr. Nduom said, the happy FM reporter only decided to focus on the example of Kojo Twum Boafo and quickly text a provoking message to inform him that Dr. Nduom had said he does not deserve his position, which was untrue in any case.

All progressives are wide awake and will continue to speak the truth to Ghanaians!

Awake Ghana!
