On behalf of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Virginia Branch and on my own behalf, we extend our warmest best Wishes to President J E A Mills, His Wife and Family, Former President J. J. Rawlings, his Wife Dr. Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings and family and to all Ghanaians on the occasion of Christmas, a day we all remember the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
On this occasion that the SAVIOUR of the WORLD is born, we wish to remind ourselves and all Ghanaians about the purpose of this wonderful and marvellous gift from GOD ALMIGHTY with LOVE, FORGIVENESS, PEACE and RECONCILIATION. Let us all share in the Joy of the LORD and remind ourselves of its essence. It is only through this that we are able to allow the full meaning of this celebration to manifest in our lives, so we can participate in his Eucharist, life renewal, and the eternity of his life.
Let us not forget our less privileged Brothers and Sisters. As God's family, we should remember that it is in giving to the less privileged that we are able to fulfil his wish. We should all try and put smiles on the faces of the underprivileged among us. It might be a bowl of rice, old shoes and clothing. It is all to the glory of the Lord and it is through these acts that we also receive.
As we enter the year 2012, which is an election year in Ghana, it is our fervent prayer that all the principal players in the election will approach it with TOLERANCE, RESPECT for each other, and most of all, love for one's country and fellowman. We must all endeavour to eschew the temptation of violence confrontations and the use of vituperate language which might trigger similar response from our political opponents. We also urge the Electoral Commission (EC), the Government, the political parties as well as all stakeholders to play their respective roles effective in order not to give room to troublemakers to take us all to ransom. Let there be an orderly, peaceful, and transparent election in 2012.
We are also pleading with our commercial vehicle drivers to be more careful on the roads in order to avoid needless road accidents. So every family can have a happy reunion on this occasion to the glory of the Lord.
