EIH GHANA MONEY OGA DEY CHOP AM LIKE THAT HMMMMM

Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Wenchi Municipal Assembly in the Brong Ahafo Region, Mr. Osei Yaw Agyei has spent a whooping sum of 445 million old cedis on the renovation of a two bedroom bungalow for his comfort!

His actions have brought about chaos among some assembly members, party faithful and other concerned citizens in the assembly.

Mr. Agyei is alleged to have taken an additional amount of ¢225,000,000 from the coffers of the assembly without consulting the assembly members, but later forced them to approve the expenditure.

This they say has happened after the assembly agreed on an earlier amount of ¢220,000,000 for him to renovate his three-bedroom house to suit his personality as a Municipal Chief Executive of the area.

When the assembly members' attention was drawn to the incident, they summoned Mr. Agyei to probe him. Knowing and accepting that he committed fraud, he immediately rendered an apology on the 20th of April this year; an apology majority of the members turned down and was accepted by few.

Modernghana.com information have it that this one is just the latest in a long list of other alleged dubious activities carried out by Mr Osei Yaw Agyei. Also some people in the Assembly have planned to take him on if the president asomdwehene Attah Mills who once said he will not hesitate to punish any one of his government officials who is found of corruption, has refuses to take any action against Mr Osei Yaw Agyei.

When Mr Osei Yaw Agyei was contacted on phone, he was quick to say that “everything they have told you about my bungalow is false. All they are saying are lies” even though this reporter did not ask him any question after he introduced himself as a reporter of the Modernghana.com.

He however refused to answer any subsequent questions and told the reporter to travel from Accra to Wenchi to ascertain the truth of the matter if he really wants to.

“You can't sit somewhere to interview me. If you want to know the truth, please come here and see for yourself, the situation on the ground, otherwise I can't continue to talk to you on phone. Good bye,” he said angrily.

When the presidents appointee of the assembly; Madam Akan Tigsi Mariama was contacted, she admitted all the claims and said they have gone to report the profligate spending of the MCE to the Omanhene of Wenchi Traditional Area, to bring him to book.

According to the source Mr Osei Yaw Agyei apologised to the assembly and said that the engineer has been transferred so they should approve another ¢225,000,000 for him to complete his bungalo when in fact that amount can put up a whole new mansion,” Madam Akan added. She also stated that the chief has warned the assembly members to be cautious anytime they are approving of any such amount for the MCE; Mr Osei Yaw Agyei.
