The Convention People's Party (CPP) says it is opposed to the sale of government houses in the Volta regional capital of Ho.
The party says government must halt sale of the 105 buildings, insisting selling them will not be in the interest of the public.
Director of Communication for the CPP Kosi Dedey speaking to Joy News' Dzifa Bampoe said the sale which is soon to start must stop because the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) had opposed similar sales in Accra on the sale principle.
The houses located at a prime location in the town are low cost buildings allocated to civil servants in the regional capital.
But the CPP communications director insists if the NDC goes ahead with the sale it would be a breach of public faith.
Responding to the CPP's concerns, Volta Regional Minister Joseph Amenewode told Joy News although no sale has yet be made, government is still considering the best options in handling the matter.
