A Cape Coast Circuit on Monday granted Isaac Nana Danso 51, Managing Director of Chief Danso Memorial School at Assin Fosu, GH¢ 1,200 bail with a surety to be justified for allegedly failing to pay GH¢ 1,123.78 being contributions of the employees and penalty to Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).
Danso pleaded not guilty and would re-appear on April 30.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Christian Victor Wood-Ackom told the court presided over by Mr Beresford Acquah that between July and December last year, SSNIT conducted inspection into the salaries and wages of employees at the school and detected the non-payment.
He said about GH¢ 272.56 deducted from the salaries and wages of the employees were not paid to SSNIT and the unpaid contributions attracted a penalty of GH¢ 851.22, increasing the establishment's indebtedness to GH¢ 1,123.78.
The prosecution said several demands by SSNIT to Danso to defray the debts proved futile.
