Mr. Kwesi Pratt, a leading member of the Socialist Forum of Ghana (SFG), on Tuesday said there was the need for the formation of a socialist-rooted political party in Ghana.
He said “We need to create a new society to end the exploitation of society and its resources”.
Mr. Pratt who was speaking at a public forum of SFG on the implications of the Election 2008 to the country's political development, said there was the need for change in government even if that change was meaningless.
He said “We would not allow any party to abuse the rights of the people and take them for granted”, adding that everyone was asking for change that would lead to the creation of wealth for society.
Mr.Pratt said no matter which party wins the December 7 polls, the SFG would continue to be with the masses and make sure that their rights were not trampled upon. He expressed worry that none of the political parties was talking about how to improve the welfare of workers but only talking about creating non-existent jobs.
