Mr Ayeh-Paye, parliamentary candidate for Ayensuano in the Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District of the Eastern Region, has appealed to the chiefs and the people of the area to vote massively for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), come December 7, 2008.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Akotoakrom at a durbar of the chiefs and people of the Ayensuano, Mr Ayeh-Paye said he was optimistic that NPP would win the election in the area because the people had demonstrated in diverse ways their loyalty to the government.

Mr Ayeh-Paye visited communities such as Anum Apapam, Souatey, Abobiri, Nfrano, Akyeansah, dome, Asuboi, Amanase, Ayekokooso, and Teacher Mante, all in the district to campaign for himself and Nana Akufo-Addo, the party’s flagbearer.

Mr Ayeh-Paye said some chiefs and opinion leaders have pledged to vote to retain the NPP in power in order to continue its good works and especially the construction of the 25-kilometre road from Adoagyiri to Owuram through Coalta.

He said the road when completed would help farmers to transport their farm produce to marketing centres in the cities.

On education, the parliamentary candidate promised to provide school structures and also initiated programmes that would improve the standard of teaching and learning.

He said electricity would be extended to communities that have not yet benefited from the national grid.

Mr Ayeh-Paye also promised to initiate programmes that would help small scale industries, farmers, traders and artisans to acquire loans to improve upon their businesses and also to create employment for the youth in the constituency.

Mr Michael Kofi Mensah the District Chief Executive and some party executives, who accompanied the parliamentary candidate, also expressed the need to vote NPP in power again for more developments to be carried out.

Mr Emmanuel Dartey, the NPP Constituency Chairman pledged their support, MR Ayeh-Paye, and promised to ensure peaceful and clean campaign in the area
