The Young Executive Forum (YEF) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed their heartfelt condolence to the family of the late Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, who passed away last week in South Africa.

A statement signed by Mr Harry Owusu, Chairman of the YEF said the group, has learnt with deep regret and sorrow the unexpected and sudden death of the Minister, who was a founding member of the Forum.

It said: “Mr Baah-Wiredu's outstanding professional contributions had fostered the growth and sustainability of YEF.

“The Minister's death is not only a great loss to the YEF of whose membership we were so proud, but more to the entire nation.

The statement noted that a big vacuum had been created especially in the management of the finances of the State for, which Baah-Wiredu's stewardship was admirably extraordinary.

It said the Minister excelled in equal measure in two prior ministerial portfolios he held since the NPP assumed the reins of government in 2001, the Local Government and Rural Development, and Education & Sports.

The YEF is an advocacy and lobby group within the New Patriotic Party which plays a major role in galvanising the professional, intellectual and business communities to support the growth and development of the Party, as well as mobilise a new generation of Party faithful and leaders.
