Mr Apraku Tanor, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Jaman South in Brong Ahafo has lauded the tremendous peace and tranquillity among communities in the district since 2001 and urged them to sustain it for enhanced development.
He noted that before 2001, there were wrangling and skirmishes between the people of Drobo and Japekrom in the district, which necessitated the deployment of security personnel in the area.
Speaking at a get-together organised for senior citizens of the area to mark Republic Day, Mr Tanor commended the government for its support that led to the resolution of a land dispute between the two communities and sustenance of peace in the district.
He assured the senior citizens that government would ensure that they got their share of the “national cake”.
He appealed to public servants to support the government to achieve its goals while efforts are made to improve remuneration for them and pensioners.
