Joyce Bawa Mogtari, a Special Aide to former President and 2024 NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama, has criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

She accused the President of exhibiting behaviors that indicate he has no interest in safeguarding Ghana’s democracy.

In a post on Monday, April 29, Joyce Bawa Mogtari noted that the appointees of the current government are also exhibiting the same behavior.

"It is interesting that we have a President who exhibits day in and day out that he is not interested in preserving our democracy. Akufo-Addo and his appointees are on a mission impossible, but they are so power drunk they simply don’t realize it. They have no option and no choice," she wrote.

"The day of reckoning is fast approaching, and they will be held accountable for their recklessness and corruption. Akufo-Addo and the NPP are on a downward spiral, disrespecting the same people who propelled them to power and treating the electorate with utter contempt," added the former deputy minister.

In other news, NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has hit back at the President for claiming he will not hand over power to someone he defeated twice.

He says the president is not God who chooses a leader, and for that reason, he has no power over who takes over from him when his term ends.
