Alexander Afenyo-Markin, Majority Leader and Member of Parliament for the Effutu constituency has said there is no sense of urgency in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In an interview with Happy FM, Afenyo-Markin highlighted the absence of a clear succession plan in the NDC, warning of instability in Mahama’s government if he wins due to internal power struggles.

Afenyo-Markin noted that with Mahama potentially serving only one term and his running mate being a retired person, there seems to be a lack of urgency in the NDC's approach to governance.

"There's no sense of urgency in their government," Afenyo-Markin remarked during the interview.

"From day one, people will be fighting for succession, leading to instability within the government," he added.

Afenyo-Markin stressed the need for political parties to have a clear succession plan in place to ensure continuity for effective leadership.

He urged the NDC and other political parties to prioritize plans to maintain stability and good governance emphasizing that a lack of succession plan could hinder their ability to govern effectively.
