A 2015 mobile money interoperability contract awarded by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government shows former President and 2024 NDC flagbearer is corrupt, says Dennis Miracles Aboagye.

Miracles Aboagye, who is the Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party's (NPP) 2024 campaign, accused Mahama of corruption in awarding the $1.2 billion contract.

He stated: "They awarded a contract to Sibton Switch Company at the cost of $1.2billion. The company still couldn’t execute the mandate till the NPP came to power in 2016."

Miracles Aboagye alleges the tender was skewed in favor of Roland Agambire, known to be associated with Mahama on various projects, reflecting "signs of corruption."

The Bank of Ghana, according to the NPP communicator later canceled the contract after discovering "the cost of the project was inflated."

Bank of Ghana staff were also found to have taken bribes from Sibton to influence the tender.

The NPP government then completed the project at a vastly reduced cost of $4.5 million, achieving mobile money interoperability.

According to Miracles Aboagye, transactions have since increased over 20-fold annually, demonstrating the NPP's superior delivery of its digitalization vision compared to the NDC's allegedly corrupt deal under Mahama.
