The Interim Council formed by the National Executive Council of the CPP at its meeting in Kumasi on the 5th of December 2023 has paid a courtesy call on their members in the Northern Region.

In a Regional Executives Steering Committee meeting organized by the region, the Interim Council leadership took the opportunity to explain to all the constituencies what necessitated the formation of the Council, the task given to the Council by NEC, what has been done and achieved so far by the Interim Council and what the Council intends to team up with the constituencies to achieve within the shortest possible time.

Dates and timetables for reorganization and elections of polling station executives, Electoral Area Executives, Constituency executives, Regional Executives and National Executives elections alongside the Election for a flagbearer were all deliberated on.

Reorganizational forms approved by the Interim Council was also outdoored and given to the constituencies who welcomed it and promised to work swiftly to meet the deadlines given them by the Interim Council.

In a press release signed by all the Regional Executives and read on behalf of the Northern Regional REC members of the CPP, the Secretary of the Northern Region Haruna Hamza said that the CPP Northern Region is happy with the decision of NEC and fully endorsed the Interim Council.

The CPP Northern Region also took the opportunity to advise other REC members in other regions to follow their example by endorsing and giving full support to the Interim Council.

They admitted that the success chalked by the Interim Council in their mandate to reorganize the CPP in this short period is very profound and must be lauded.

The CPP Northern Region also stated in their press release that, they are adhering to the principal disciplinary principle of the party which is democratic centralism.

Haruna Hamza noted that the CPP has decided to form the Interim Council, therefore any member who goes against it will face disciplinary actions.
