The People’s National Convention (PNC) has described as “illegitimate” a memo issued on Tuesday, January 2 announcing the opening of nominations for its Parliamentary and Presidential primaries.
The memo was signed by the General Secretary, Janet Asana Nabla.
But a press release issued by National Chairman Moses Dani Baah on Tuesday, January 9 said that memo “carries nothing but frivolity and vexation”.
“It should therefore be ignored with the contempt it deserves.”
It explained that the party’s internal elections are always preceded by the establishment of a Congress Committee “which assumes responsibility for all modalities of the internal elections”.
It warned that anyone who “connives and condones the illegal act” by picking forms will be joined to an ongoing suit against Madam Nabla.
“Leadership by this release would like to assure all members of the PNC that sooner than later issues concerning the leadership of the party will be resolved for proper internal elections to be embarked up.”
