Samson Asaki Awingobit, the Executive Secretary of the Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana (IEAG), has officially declared his intention to vie for the flagbearership position of the People’s National Convention (PNC).

In a recent media interview held in Accra, the unionist expressed his readiness to participate in the presidential race if the party opens nominations for contenders.

Mr. Awingobit conveyed his determination to take part in the PNC's presidential primaries slated for March 2024, emphasizing that he would promptly pick forms to formalize his candidacy.

His decision to contest, he stated, is contingent on the party's opening of nominations for aspiring presidential candidates.

During the interview, Mr. Awingobit conveyed his commitment to undergo the necessary processes and assured that he would be among the first to acquire the nomination forms when they became available.

His announcement adds a new dimension to the upcoming internal elections within the PNC, injecting a sense of anticipation and competition.

His decision to enter the race for the second time reflects his dedication to contributing to the political discourse and shaping the direction of the PNC.
