The new hit single catching up with the Nite Clubs and pubs gradually is "Ruut Extra" by KB. He dropped a lot of revealing chapters on the show with CD Thompson of Xfm 95.1 when he interviewed him about the new single "Ruut Extra".

"I started way back with M3nsa of FOKN Bois fame in the same neighborhood - often times we found ourselves rapping to this and that after playing basketball. Music was what we ate and drank. Music has been a part of me while I grew up. It's in my DNA. More like my fundamentals of my early life. But I got discovered by Bola Ray (now of Starr 103.5 fm), way back. He was the very first on air personality who heard my debut single 'Tonight'.

At the time, the song was not even mastered. It was the demo version he heard and the next thing it got on radio. He felt the song was so good he couldn't wait for the final mix. It all started from there. Then later I met up with Samini who I grew up with too in the same neighborhood in Dansoman. He knew I was one of the homies but he was very surprised when he got to know I was also into music because he didn't see me rapping or doing music until later. And from there I met JMJ Baby through Samini; we recorded 'Trigger' which became a national anthem everywhere. And I got signed on to Xtra Large Music, same label which manages Kaakie. But I've been playing the low key doing some more work behind the scenes so most of y'all didn't really hear about me till 'One Night Stand' came through and the following singles." Says Ghetto KB

On his analysis of current trends in Ghana music industry, this was what he had to say - "truthfully we haven't lost it all but our style of music has evolved from one phase to another over the years. Besides, we still need a lot more input into our music to make it better. Our music has been too commercialized and people are forced to do whatever just to get the hype. So the ones who don't really go with the flow of the moment - I mean the people who don't want to jump to just any new style of music - are left to sink.

The music has been skewed to a certain trend that even show organizers dovetail their programmes to fit just the style of music trending in the system - like the Azonto and Alkayida. It should cross boundaries and involve a lot more other genres as well. It's like if you're not doing Azonto or Alkayida style of music they feel you are not doing good music. That's a reason some of us have not really been up there but nonetheless we are not giving up and we won't force ourself into just any system.

Our music foundation in Ghana too was weak. We didn't have any clear cut definition of our music so we just stay till somebody brings a new trend then everyone follows, unlike the Zouk, francophone music and the Naija style which I think they have defined their industry better than us. No matter how a francophone or Naija act does music they still have that identical element in their music that resonates where they are coming from. But for us I am not sure if we can boldly say they same. We need to sit up and be ourselves and stop forcing ourselves into the styles of others. Originality is key." He concluded.
