I missed out on Sista Afia’s Tamale concert due to wrong timing — Fancy Gadam

Hot Issues I missed out on Sista Afias Tamale concert due to wrong timing — Fancy Gadam
JAN 26, 2024 LISTEN

Tamale-based singer Fancy Gadam has finally opened up on why he missed out on performing at Sista Afia's concert held in Tamale on May 14, 2022.

In an interview with Majority Radio in Tamale, Fancy Gadam revealed that he had agreements to perform at the show for a fee of GH¢50,000.

According to him, he slashed the initial GH¢100,000 he charged the organizers after finding out the show belonged to Sista Afia.

However, he said the event was arranged on short notice, with the agreement reached just one week before.

He noted that more time was needed to adequately promote the concert in order to achieve a massive turnout.

His main concern was that the concert’s date was Ramadan when many Muslims would be fasting and unlikely to attend an evening show.

"We needed time to promote the show. Timing was the main issue and it was Ramada. We are all Muslims and fasting so they will not want to attend. I didn’t want to dent my reputation. The timing was the main thing," Fancy Gadam stated.

The 'Total Cheat' singer had suggested postponing the concert to ensure greater success.

But with arrangements already in place, Sista Afia's management decided to stick to the original date.

Fancy Gadam's no-show left Sista Afia disappointed, as she felt it contributed to the poor turnout.

She had expressed hurt over Fancy Gadam’s last-minute withdrawal, describing it as sabotage despite having a good relationship with him.
