Famed Ghanaian actress Mercy Asiedu, widely known as ‘Asabea’ in Kumawood movies has debunked rumours circulating on social media that claimed she has passed on.
She noted that she is alive and strong as she has not even been sick for a while, contrary to the rumours.
"I am not dead. As you can see, I am alive and kicking. God has blessed me with strength. I am not even ill. I haven't been ill,” she stated.
The hard-core character actress expressed frustration at bloggers spreading misinformation about her health.
“There have been rumours out there that I am dead. Bloggers on YouTube are parading lies. Parading falsehood that someone is dead is extremely outrageous," she said.
According to her, reports claimed she was in the UK when she is actually in the US.
“They are saying I am in the UK but I am in the US," she pointed out.
Mercy Asiedu revealed that "People have been crying, I have received tons of calls and messages from concerned people. My husband and I have been overwhelmed in the past few days.”
She pleaded with the public and media to refrain from spreading unverified information about celebrities' health or whereabouts.
“Stop creating fear and panic among my fans and family," she stressed.
