Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a flagbearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has withdrawn from the party’s presidential primaries scheduled for Saturday, May 13.
In a statement released on Friday, May 12, Dr. Duffuor noted that taking part in the elections would be “akin to knowingly drinking from a poisoned calabash” due to irregularities with the voters’ register the party has failed to resolve despite the assurances.

Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a former Finance Minister has come under heavy criticism following his last-minute withdrawal from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential primaries.
Duffuor opted out of the race a day before the elections, citing errors in the voter register which he claimed were not resolved despite the assurances from the party.

Voting at Kpone-Katamanso for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primary has delayed due to the late arrival of electoral materials.
The voting materials arrived at 0730 hours.
