Accra, Aug. 10. GNA -- The 2003 Homowo Golf Championship tees off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, August 23. A spokesman for the Achimota Ggolf Club, who announced this in Accra on Sunday, said the competition, which is being organised by the Ga members of the club, forms part of activities marking the celebration of this year's Ga Homowo.
Golfers from Achimota, the host club, Celebrity, Bok Nam Kim and Tema are expected to participate in the one-day 18-hole stableford event.
Dr Sydney Kwartei Quartey, President of the Achimota Golf Club would be assisted by Mr Samuel Leslie Adetola, the captain to present the prizes to the deserving participants.
Meanwhile, the Tema Country Golf Club is appealing to corporate bodies and institutions to take up the sponsorship of this year's Tema Open Championship.
