The Ministry of Youth Eduaction and Sports (YES) has ordered a temporary closure of the Osu Stand of the Accra Sports Stadium.
In statement signed by Kofi Aggrey Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, the closure is to enable a team of technical experts complete an investigation to ascertain the present state of disrepair of the stand.
According to the statement, the closure is also in accordance with recommendations of a committee set up by the Honourable Minister Mr. Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu after he inspected the facility on Wednesday.
The statement said a team of technical experts from Architectural Engineering Services Limited (AESL) and supported by Yaw Abebrese from DEKAB Consult are expected to submit a final report on May 11 to enable a final decision to be taken on the use of the stand.
