Cup of Nations 2016 Africa Women's Afcon: Yusif Basigi worried about the absence of five foreign-based players
OCT 18, 2016 LISTEN

Black Queens coach Yusif Basigi says the absence of five of his players is his major headache as he intensifies preparations for the 2016 Africa Women's Afcon.

To him, the five players are key to his team but their absence means that they are missing a lot at training especially as they go through stages of preparation.

"My major worry is the absence of the five foreign-based players who are yet to report to camp. Apart from two players, Samira Suleman and Linda Eshun who are in camp after their contracts expired with their teams, the other players are not in," Basigi said.

"I am worried because we have gone through various phases of our preparations without them and for them to catch up with those who are already here is not easy," he added.

The Black Queens are currently intensifying their preparations for the Women's Afcon without Priscilla Okyere, Elizabeth Addo, Florence Dadson, Juliet Acheampong and Portia Boakye.

Basigi's charges are ranked second in Africa and will be hoping to pull a surprise by winning the Women's Afcon for the first time.
