Having lost inspirational midfielder N'Golo Kante to Antonio Conte's Chelsea over the summer, surprise Premier League champions Leicester City were left sweating on how to replace the Frenchman.

However, the early season form of Ghanaian Daniel Amartey has certainly pleased supporters at the King Power Stadium, with his team mates also full of praise for the 21-year-old.

Amartey was on the periphery of the squad under boss Claudio Ranieiri following his move from Danish side Copenhagen last season, however a new lease of life at the heart of the midfield certainly seems to be working for the player who has ten international caps to his name.

Amartey has been one of the most consistent performers for Leicester so far this season, and despite the team being rank outsiders in the Premier League betting from bookmakers Coral to repeat their achievements of last season, the Ghanaian will hope to help his team consolidate such success.

After a first Champions League victory over Belgium side Bruges recently, fellow Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater was in shock when told about Amartey's age.

Amartey has joined fellow Ghana national team players such as Andre Ayew and Jeff Schlupp in the Premier League, with the Leicester duo undoubtedly keen to finish above new West Ham man Ayew.

With Premier League betting odds of 4/1 and 25/1 respectively to finish in the top six come the end of the season, Leicester and West Ham could well be among a whole host of clubs in England competing for places in the top half of the table.

Having spent three years in Denmark previously, Amartey has revealed that he was extremely shy with his new team mates at Leicester because of his poor English.

The youngster has revealed how supportive everyone at the club was during his first months in England, and Amartey is certainly repaying them with his on-field performances now.

Having come on late during Leicester's recent EFL Cup defeat to Chelsea, Amartey will be hoping to cement his place in Ranieri's starting eleven over the coming weeks.
